Legends of Slots

Legends of Slots is a casual tap game where you line up themed symbols across spinning reels and watch the little animations play out. The controls are about as simple as mobile games get: one big button and a few menus for the collections you're working toward. We played it in short bursts over about ten days, mostly on a bus or waiting in line. What surprised us is how much personality it packs into something this light. Each symbol set has its own art style, from dragons to little pixel knights, and unlocking a new theme feels like a small reward. There's a loose progression system that nudges you to complete sets, and that quiet sense of collecting kept us coming back. It's not a deep game and it doesn't try to be. If you want something to fill five idle minutes with pleasant motion and sound, it does that job well. The one gripe is the menus, which feel a bit crowded once you've unlocked a few themes.
